PARK AVENUE PRIVATE FIRM
In the bustling city of New York, a private firm wanted to create an intimate yet welcoming space for its meeting rooms. Robert A.M. Stern Architects imagined a luminous and modern space to encourage creative exchanges between colleagues. The shimmering open weave glass laminated dividers were the perfect way to help the architects render the office lighter, and let light pass through.
The model of woven metal used in this project is one of Sophie Mallebranche’s most popular creations: N°17_OW – White Gold, an irregular open weave. Manufactured with the highest quality of silver-coated enameled coppers on a stainless steel micro-cable warp, this weave captures the pearlescence of light rays and renders them tangible in a singular way.
The play on light can render the ensemble either transparent or opaque, depending on the lighting installation, which enables light or its reflection to be conveyed.
Functioning as a contemporary take on Venetian blinds, the laminated glass panels gain an added sense of refinement and exude genteel sophistication that impacts the entire interior. Blending in with other elements and absorbing light, the metal becomes fluid and pristine.
